Huge demand for low-cost Zoom flights
20 December 2004
New low-cost scheduled flights between Cardiff and Canada have triggered a huge response from the public within a week of the service being launched.
Zoom Airlines received over 500 bookings in the first week of
the flights going on sale and the online reservation service
www.flyzoom.com is dealing with an influx of enquiries on a daily
basis.
The Cardiff service will start operating in May 2005 with weekly
flights to Toronto on Mondays starting from £89 one way.
Zoom will be the only airline offering flights to Canada from
Cardiff International Airport in summer 2005 and the only low-cost
transatlantic airline servicing Canada for the whole of Wales and
the West of England.
Debbie Marshall, UK Director of Zoom Airlines, said: "Our Cardiff
flights have been in great demand since the launch which
demonstrates there is a real appetite for this type of service in
Wales and the West of England.
"People are showing their willingness to book well in advance to
take advantage of the lowest possible fares and to save
disappointment."
In 2005 Zoom will be operating scheduled flights from Gatwick,
Glasgow, Manchester and Cardiff servicing eight Canadian cities -
Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Halifax, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton
and Winnipeg.
Summer 2005 flights can now be booked at www.flyzoom.com or by calling 0870 240
0055.
