Cardiff on route to Egypt
02 November 2004
Sun-worshippers, divers and holidaymakers from South Wales and the South West will soon be able to fly to the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh, thanks to a brand new winter 2005/06 charter service from Cardiff International Airport.
Tour operator Thomson Holidays is launching the new winter
service from November 2005, and, using a Boeing 757, will be flying
235 passengers every week to the increasingly popular destination
of Sharm el Sheikh, with prices starting at just £285 per
person.
Situated between the Red Sea's Gulfs of Suez and Aqaba, Sharm el
Sheikh is located on the east shore at the southernmost tip of the
Sinai Peninsula and has rapidly developed over the last ten years
into a popular tourist destination.
Cardiff International Airport's Sales & Marketing Manager
Vincent Rey explains, "This is a very exciting new destination to
add to our growing number of services. I believe that Sharm el
Sheikh will appeal to travellers looking for something different
which is competitively priced and I am confident it will prove a
great success.
"Sharm el Sheikh has become a first-class luxury holiday resort for
holidaymakers and offers a wide range of activities and a vast
array of attractions. The resort is famous for its diving on the
beautiful coral reef, and also offers other sports such as golf,
watersports, tennis, quad biking and both horse and camel
riding."
Miles Morgan, Sales and Marketing Director of Thomson Holidays
said, "We are delighted to offer customers flying from Cardiff
International the chance of visiting one of the most beautiful
destinations in the world. Egypt has become an increasingly popular
destination and people in Wales and the South West will jump at the
chance of departing from their local airport and want guaranteed
winter sun."
Flights will be on sale by the end of October through your local
travel agent, however, alternatively call Thomson Holidays for more
information on: 0870 165 0079. The route will be in operation every
Thursday from 3 November 2005 - 20 April 2006.
