1,400 FOR MORE MADEIRA, MY DEAR!
07 November 2005
An extra 1,400 people will be able to fly to Madeira from Cardiff International Airport in 2006.
Atlantic Holidays is extending its programme of Madeira holiday flights from Cardiff to Funchal, the capital of this South Atlantic sub-tropical island. Having operated from May to October this year, weekly departures (on Mondays) in 2006 will be available from 20th February to 23rd October.
The extended programme will provide a total of 5,400 seats for the 3.5 hour flight to Madeira, the "floating garden of the Atlantic", and acknowledged retreat for those seeking a colourful, peaceful, and fascinating holiday destination.
According to Dafydd Lewis, Marketing Executive at Cardiff International Airport: "The expansion of Atlantic Holidays' programme reflects the established popularity of their Madeira holidays among passengers from Cardiff.
"This island is a very special place, from the sophistication of Funchal to the fertile mountain landscape that combines exotic flowers, banana plantations, and near-impossible terraced plots for agriculture," he added.
Prices for Atlantic Holidays' Madeira packages from Cardiff begin at £289, and are bookable online at www.atlanticholidays.co.uk (tel: 01452-381888). More information is available on Cardiff International Airport's new website (www.cwlfly.com).
The Madeira flights are operated with Boeing 737 aircraft,
departing at 11.35am, with return flights arriving at
19.50.
