Antalya joins Cardiff air network
22 June 2007
An eight week schedule of weekly departures to the Mediterranean city of Antalya makes it the third Turkish destination now served by direct flights from Cardiff International Airport.
Weekly services begin on 8 August, pioneered by tour operator Goldtrail Holidays and operated by Turkish airline Onur Air. Both low-cost airline tickets and complete package holidays will be on offer.
The flights open up Turkey's eastern resorts such as Alanya, Belek, Kemer, Side and Antalya itself to the Welsh holidaymaker.
Antalya has long claimed to be Turkey's leading tourism centre. A metropolitan city with international designer brand shopping as well as a selection of local traders, its narrow, winding streets lead to a picturesque harbour and small beach. Much larger beaches are easily reached just outside the main city area. The ancient ruins of Perge, Aspendos, and Athena are not too far away along with the amazing underground city of Cappadocia.
Goldtrail Holidays has been a specialist tour operator to Turkey since 1996 and is now the largest independent tour operator to the country.
A number of tour operators offer flights from Cardiff International to the Turkish cities of Bodrum and Dalaman.
