Rugby World Cup bonanza
10 September 2007
Every seat sold from Wales and Ireland to France sold out for Wales victory in Nantes!
The Rugby World Cup in Nantes has proved a boon for Irish airline, Aer Arann. Colin Lewis, Head of Sales and Marketing at Aer Arann, announced: "We are delighted that Aer Arann passenger figures to Nantes reached an all time high this weekend. Not only were our scheduled flights from Cork, Cardiff and Bristol full with rugby fans, Aer Arann also operated special charters specifically for fans heading to Nantes".
Lewis continued: "Every seat on every flight was full between the UK and France - Cardiff-Nantes, Bristol-Nantes and Cork-Nantes. Indeed, for the whole of summer 2007, we've exceeded all our expectations this year and as we will carry 8,700 between Nantes and the UK and Ireland - 20% ahead of last year."
Over one million customers have travelled with Aer Arann across their 40 routes to 25 great destinations across Ireland, France and the UK. Our new ATR aircraft are greenest aircraft in the UK and Ireland - an environmentally friendly aircraft with lower emissions of CO2 due to reduced fuel burn, 70% lower fuel consumption than a jet on similar routes, and sets new standards in the industry for quietness.
