WELSH TRAVELLERS BENEFIT FROM ADDITIONAL NEWCASTLE SERVICES
UK regional airline, Eastern Airways will provide business travellers in Wales with even greater choice of services to the north east of England by offering more flights from Cardiff International Airport to Newcastle this summer.
The independent operator, which is one of the UK's most punctual scheduled airlines*, will increase Cardiff services from two to three flights each weekday to Newcastle from 7 April 2008 to meet demand.
Newcastle is vibrant cosmopolitan city and the north east has strong business links with South Wales, particularly in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, utilities, finance, law, insurance, manufacturing and construction industries.
Chris Holliday, Eastern Airways' chief operating officer, said: " We are offering the best business led schedule to Newcastle from Cardiff providing Welsh business travellers with greater flexibility and choice of services to help them maximise their day visits to north east England. Seat capacity will be increased by up 33% and our convenient flights save business travellers valuable time as they are significantly quicker than road or rail alternatives."
"We welcome further investment by Eastern Airways in Cardiff," said Peter Phillips, Cardiff International Airport's head of marketing & communications. "The airline has successfully developed what is clearly emerging as an important route for the business community. This addition provides convenience for frequent travellers with a high level of inflight service."
Passengers flying with Eastern Airways from Cardiff and
Newcastle also benefit from dedicated fast track security channels
to avoid any queues at the search area. The airline also
offers good value day return options.
Eastern Airways has been operating regular scheduled services from
Cardiff since 2006 and provides a comprehensive selection of onward
connections from Newcastle to Aberdeen.
