Piece-C-Puzzles Launch Product at Cardiff Airport
17 May 2005
A Young Enterprise company from Pembrokeshire, Piece-C-Puzzles, launched their product at Cardiff International Airport this week in a bid to target and raise product awareness among holidaymakers and business travellers.
Piece-C-Puzzles, a company formed by students attending Sir Thomas Picton School in Haverfordwest, are producing an electronic CD jigsaw puzzle which has already sold more than 170 copies.
Piece-C-Puzzles' marketing director Louisa Jones explains, "We were delighted with Cardiff Airport as a venue to launch our product and thrilled with the response we received. We only started trading five weeks ago and are happy with the results to date.
"We have had an enormous amount of support from local businesses and won our regional competition in Pembrokeshire. The next step for us will be the West Wales competition this Thursday (19 May) and if we win that, we will go through to the Welsh Finals in the Wales Millennium Centre in June.
Cardiff International Airport's head of business development Steve Hodgetts says, "Young Enterprise is a great initiative which provides students with vital business skills, hands-on experience and significantly develops their confidence and communication skills.
"It is important to give such businesses support and encouragement at this early stage. We are delighted to support Piece-C-Puzzles in their business venture and wish them every success in the competition and in the future."
Young Enterprise gives young people aged between 15 and 19 the
chance to set up and run their own business for one year while
still in full-time education.
