TBI has announced today that Cardiff International Airport's new Managing Director will be Patrick Duffy.
Mr. Duffy, 36, has a strong leadership and business development
track record in commercial operations, including in retail, and
visitor-and-tourism destinations, both in the UK and Ireland.
Resident in the Vale of Glamorgan for over five years, Patrick has
recently been undertaking a Masters of Business Administration
degree at Cardiff University's Business School following his role
as Managing Director of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution's
sales division.
He comments: "I am thrilled to be appointed by TBI as Managing
Director at Cardiff International Airport. I believe there are
tremendous long term prospects for Wales' national airport, and
look forward to working with the entire team at the airport, with
our colleagues in TBI-abertis airports, and with all those in
business and public life who can share in the benefits of a strong
international airport."
Mr. Duffy was born in Ireland and is married to Bridgend-born
Rhian. They have two children.
Carlos del Río, Chief Executive of TBI-abertis airports, commented:
"The company's investment in Cardiff International Airport has
facilitated strong growth in traffic, with a record 2.1 million
passengers using the facility in 2007. Patrick will take the
airport forward in a rapidly changing marketplace, with the
objective of meeting the travelling needs and aspirations of Wales
and the West."
