Flybe Reports Excellent Advance Ticket Sales in Cardiff
Flybe, Europe's biggest low cost regional airline today announced its intention to become the biggest operator from Cardiff International Airport within 3 years.
With four new routes starting at the end of March to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Jersey and Newcastle, Flybe will be selling nearly 300,000 tickets in 2008 and intends to repeat the kind of success it has seen around the UK over the last 5 years.
Commenting on Flybe's plans, Chief Commercial Officer Mike Rutter said:
"Flybe has a strong track record in providing customers with great value new routes right across our UK network - from Inverness to Newquay. If anyone needs evidence of our ability to make aviation affordable, look no further than Southampton airport where five years ago, less than 200,000 passengers used the airport. Last year 2million flew from Southampton, of which 90% were Flybe passengers. We aim to do exactly the same for Cardiff!"
Lead in fares, inclusive of taxes and charges, are as
follows:
Cardiff - Edinburgh Flights operate three times daily from
£24.99
Cardiff - Glasgow Flights operate twice daily from £24.99
Cardiff - Jersey Flights operate three times a week from
£29.99
Cardiff - Newcastle Flights operate daily from £27.99
