Sky's the limit for dentist
09 July 2008
Marcus Woof, a special care dentist, is celebrating his 50th Birthday this summer and wanted to mark this special occasion by completing a challenge to raise funds for Mencap.
Marcus has challenged himself to fly an aircraft, landing at 6
principal airports in the UK including Cardiff International,
covering over 1200 miles in one day!
Steve Hodgetts, the airports business development & commercial
director commented; 'Cardiff International Airport is delighted to
be involved with is exciting fundraising event. We wish Marcus all
the best with this venture, and hope he succeeds in raising much
needed funds to ensure the vital work carried out by Mencap
continues'
Launched by Mencap Regional Fundraising Manager, Caron Jennings, the sky is the limit for the event which aims to raise more than £20,000 to help people living with a learning disability and their families and carers.
Caron Jennings said: "We're really grateful for Marcus taking on this exciting challenge to raise vital funds for Mencap. There are 40,000 children and adults with a learning disability in Wales and this number is growing. Thanks to people like Marcus we can keep on providing emotional and practical support to children and adults with a learning disability, their families and carers in the region."
